The Worst Pick in Every Round of Your 2025 Fantasy Draft

I generally try to bring an optimistic view towards fantasy drafts and player evaluation, as at the end of the day, so much of fantasy comes down to luck and opportunity. However, there are a certain few players for whom I cannot provide that starry-eyed outlook. Here’s a look at the one player in every round of fantasy drafts that I will not be selecting this year.

Round 1: WR Justin Jefferson, Vikings

It doesn’t feel great to bet against the best receiver in the NFL on a first-ballot Hall of Fame trajectory, but I think Jefferson is going a little too high in drafts this year. His current ADP is 6th overall, and he is often grouped with Ja'Marr Chase and CeeDee Lamb in the top tier of receivers. I believe Jefferson belongs closer to the second tier and is interchangeable with guys like Puka Nacua, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Malik Nabers to me. As great as Jefferson’s production has been, he has never had quite as high a fantasy ceiling as his peers.

While Jefferson was the overall WR1 in 2022, he topped out at 17.9 fantasy points per game, the lowest mark that the WR1 has posted since 2017. This is largely because Jefferson has never scored double-digit touchdowns in his career, and it’s hard to imagine that changing this year unless J.J. McCarthy has a historically great first season. Jefferson’s guaranteed volume and skill set give him an extremely high fantasy floor, but I wouldn’t consider him if I had a top-5 pick in drafts this year.
