7 Tight End SOS Beneficiaries & Ideal Late-Round Pairings

With ever-increasing hype building around specific player analysis, it’s sometimes difficult to see the forest for the trees. The Spring months are meant for the budding of individual player evaluations, and we certainly did an incredible amount of those here at 4for4, but now with those safely flowering here in Summer, it’s time we turn more attention towards incorporating those appraisals into bonafide drafting strategies.

Today we’re going to take that litany of player profiles —specifically, tight end player profiles— and find buckets of the fantasy regular season that are beneficial for TEs coming off of the board later in the draft. As a bonus, we will also look for ideal pairings for us to consider throughout the draft that could have the opportunity to become a sort of TE1 amalgamation. We will do this by using 4for4’s Team Level Strength of Schedule tool, which uses an easy-to-read color coding to pinpoint both calm and rough batches of every team’s 2023 schedule.

The Hot Spots tool takes into account schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA) from the 2022 season, and though there were plenty of moving pieces over the offseason, it is still an incredibly useful tool that helped us get on options such as Pat Freiermuth, Tyler Higbee, and Evan Engram, who were coming off of draft boards in the 9th, 11th, and 15th (!) rounds, respectively.
