Sneaky Starts: Week 5

All but the luckiest fantasy owners at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough—a waiver wire or bench player capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.

Sam Darnold, Taylor Heinicke, Joe Burrow, Matt Ryan, Leonard Fournette, Cordarrelle Patterson, Michael Carter, Corey Davis, Emmanuel Sanders, Jakobi Meyers, Kenny Golladay, Dawson Knox, Mike Gesicki, Hunter Henry and Dalton Schultz all beat expectations in Week 4.

I’ll include the opponent’s adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA) ranking next to the matchup. The higher the number, the better the matchup for the player.
