3 Overvalued Quarterbacks for 2021 (Potential Busts)
Writing this piece is like walking a tightrope. On one side, you have the inherent value each quarterback provides. No surprise, but to be overvalued means there’s some inherent value already. But, on the other side, a surge in ADP should prompt a closer look into their situation. We’re drafting not just on last season’s results. We need the success to repeat the next season.

“Consider these other ranges of outcomes for a player that could still be good” doesn’t have the same ring to it as “overvalued” but it’s how I view the term. For quarterbacks, it’s especially important. An average 2.6-PPG gap has separated the QB6 from the QB12 over the last five seasons. A gap that translates to multiple rounds of value during a draft for those that wait on quarterbacks.
With such a shift in quarterback value this season, I took a deeper look at a few quarterbacks in the Top 12 that warrant a deeper dive. Again, my analysis is not to say we should avoid these passers. But we should consider the context of the upcoming season prior to drafting them.
