Streaming Tight Ends: Week 14 Targets

If you are still reading this column, congratulations. Without a tight end named Gronkowski or Graham, you’ve made it through the rigors of a 13 week season and into the tournament known as the fantasy playoffs.

Those that subscribed to the TEBWW strategy throughout the regular season were able to stay competitive in a year where finding consistent tight end scoring was as arduous as any season in recent memory. Week 13 stayed true to that theme.

Dion Sims, playing for an injured Charles Clay, turned in a TE1 performance with 9.8 PPR points. Eric Ebron posted 5.3 PPR points and Jared Cook laid an egg in a game that was over as quickly as it started.

Our season average for streaming picks now sits at 7.7 PPR points per week, which equates to TE14 numbers. Optimal TEBWW candidates have put up 12.8 PPR points per week, good enough to finish as the TE5 on the regular season.

As always, tight end streamers must be available in at least 40% of Yahoo leagues. Here are the top TEBWW candidates for Week 14:

Kyle Rudolph vs NYJ

No team has allowed more touchdowns to opposing tight ends this year than the Jets, who have allowed 12 on the season, and 5 in their last 5 games. New York also ranks 28th in aFPA to tight ends, surrendering 15.7 schedule adjusted PPR points per game to the position.

After missing most of the season with an injury, Kyle Rudolph is back as the clear starter in Minnesota, playing 90% of the team snaps over the last 2 weeks. In his 5 games this season, Rudolph has averaged 8.5 PPR points per game, a respectable number, especially when you consider the current state of the position. The Vikings tight end is currently available in 46% of Yahoo leagues.
