Tank Dell returns to practice, opens 21-day activation window

Texans

Oct 07 · 2:48 PM EDT

WR Tank Dell, DT Kayden McDonald and T Braden Smith have returned to practice.

Fantasy Impact:

Dell is a worthwhile speculative stash in deeper leagues, but fantasy managers should not plan on using him in Week 5. His eventual return would primarily threaten the opportunities available to Hutchinson, Noel, and Boutte. Collins remains Houston’s clear No. 1 WR, while Schultz should retain a meaningful role at tight end. Dell’s participation level and any activation decision will be more important than merely opening the practice window.

Texans WR Nico Collins returns to practice Wednesday

Jonathan M. Alexander

Sep 30 · 2:20 PM EDT

Nico Collins returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury two weeks ago.

Collins missed Houston’s past two games, while head coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday that the team was hopeful to have him back against Dallas. His official participation level was not immediately available.

Fantasy Impact:

Returning to practice gives Collins a legitimate chance to rejoin the lineup Sunday, although one session does not guarantee he will be cleared. His Thursday workload should provide a stronger indication of his availability. Collins belongs in fantasy lineups as a top-12 option if active, while his return would send Hutchinson, Boutte and Noel back to desperation-play territory. It would also improve C.J. Stroud’s outlook after Houston’s offense struggled during Collins’ two-game absence.

Texans WR Nico Collins slated to miss second straight game

Aaron Wilson

Sep 25 · 11:49 AM EDT

Texans Nico Collins (Grade 1 hamstring), Ed Ingram (groin strain), Jadeveon Clowney (bone bruise, knee) not practicing and all slated to miss second game in a row, per league sources.

Fantasy Impact:

Schultz remains the clear beneficiary after turning 14 targets into 12 receptions and 140 yards without Collins in Week 2. Houston’s WR opportunities were spread across Hutchinson, Wayne, Boutte and Noel, with none of them catching more than three passes despite C.J. Stroud attempting 55 throws. Schultz is a strong TE1 against Indianapolis, while each Texans receiver remains a desperation flex option.

Texans WR Nico Collins remains sidelined Thursday

Jonathan M. Alexander

Sep 24 · 2:20 PM EDT

No Nico Collins, Ed Ingram or Jadeveon Clowney at practice today.

Dalton Schultz and Trent Brown, who didn’t practice Wednesday, have both returned.

Related Players: Xavier Hutchinson, Kayshon Boutte, Jaylin Noel, Jared Wayne

Fantasy Impact:

Collins needs to return Friday to retain a realistic chance of playing, and even a limited session would leave him carrying substantial re-injury risk. Schultz remains the clearest beneficiary of another absence. Hutchinson, Boutte and Noel are the highest-ranked available Houston receivers, although the Texans used a committee approach without Collins in Week 2.
