The trait that makes Myles Gaskin stand out is he runs hard and has a knack for finding positive yards out of nearly every run. Not super fast or super strong, Gaskin is a bit undersized and very few scouts had him pegged as a starting running back in the NFL.

While many thought the backfield would be led by Howard and Breida, instead it's been Gaskin. Gaskin has led the Dolphins' backfield in snaps, touches and rushing yards in every game this season. He has played at least 63% of the offensive reps in every game while averaging over 18 touches per game. He's on pace for 1,392 total yards (rushing and receiving), which would be the most for a Dolphins running back since Jay Ajayi in 2016, the story said.

The San Francisco 49ers have identified Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick as a threat in the running game, according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic. "Still, Fitzpatrick’s total shows he’s not a total slouch on the hoof," wrote Barrows. "And even that middling praise is a concern for the 49ers, who have shown little ability to halt quarterbacks when they decide to run. General manager John Lynch said Thursday there’s been a “big focus” on stopping quarterback runs this week."

“He’s 38 years old,” 49ers GM John Lynch, adding a year to Fitzgerald’s age (the quarterback’s birthday is next month), said on KNBR radio. “But he still moves incredibly well and he’s really adept at getting outside the pocket and making plays.”

The 49ers have allowed more rushing yards to quarterbacks than running backs this season.

2020 has been an odd year, and an entire article dedicated to focused on Fitzpatrick's rushing prowess (with a focus on the 49ers' inability to stop running QBs) just adds to it. Quarterbacks with rushing upside have a lot of value in fantasy football, making 'Fitzmagic' a weekly DFS target and streamer candidate in season-long leagues.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the starter for Week 5 against the 49ers.

HC Brian Flores left the door open to a possible change, but looks like he'll stick with Fitz for Week 5. The temptation has to be there to start Tagovailoa, mostly because of the recent success of Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert. But with Tagovailoa coming off an injury, it looks like the Dolphins are going to continue to play it safe. However, one has to think the change is coming soon as soon as the team feels safe about starting the rookie.

Brian Flores says he’s going to “presume” that Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the Dolphins starting QB this week after meetings today.

Flores mentioned he knows Tagovailoa questions will come but thinks Fitz moved the ball well. In another tweet, Wolfe stated Flores says he doesn’t take Joe Burrow or Justin Herbert early success into consideration when deciding when to play Tagovailoa or how he will play. Obviously Tagovailoa is coming off injury.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is practicing Friday, according to Barry Jackson. He had been dealing with a non-COVID related illness.

Tua's return is important if starting QB Ryan Fitzpatrick were to go down with injury in a plus matchup against the Seahawks defense.
