Cowboys release WR Miles Austin

The Dallas Cowboys have also decided to part ways with veteran wide receiver Miles Austin and will designate him as a post-June 1 cut, according to a source.

Releasing Austin saves the Cowboys $5.5 million against the cap, but they don’t get the credit on those savings until after June 1. That money will likely go toward the Cowboys signing their draft picks this year.

Fantasy Impact:

Struggling with injuries, Austin has been a shell of his former self last season. He will garner some interest in free agency, likely as a WR3.

Spears’ downgrade puts his PPR FLEX availability in doubt. If he misses Sunday, Pollard would become a stronger RB2 play with a chance to absorb additional receiving work alongside his rushing workload. Chestnut will likely see a handful or two of snaps, but with the Titans' general offensive infrastructure, you should be able to find better options on your waiver wire.
