QB Ryan Fitzpatrick may indeed have more quarterback starts in his future, but he is expected to make his last one for the Buffalo Bills in the season finale against the New York Jets in Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Keeping Fitzpatrick makes little sense from an economic or production standpoint.

The Bills are eager to find a young quarterback for next season, and Fitzpatrick is due to make $7.45 million in 2013. That includes a $3 million bonus he would get in March. It’s not an exorbitant salary for a starting quarterback, but it is exorbitant for a quarterback who is 22-41-1 for his career and who would be keeping the starter’s seat warm for whichever young QB the Bills draft.

Furthermore, it’s hard to imagine the Bills trying to sell the product in 2013 after 3½ unsuccessful seasons with Fitzpatrick at the helm. This season’s repeated statements by Bills General Manager Buddy Nix — including “the time is now” to try to trade up to draft a quarterback — provide further indication the Bills are ready to turn the page on Fitzpatrick.

Fantasy Impact:

This signing makes all the sense in the world with Brian Callahan at the helm. Boyd should have a decent fantasy floor, but he is the third option—at best—with Will Levis at the helm. Slotting him into a lineup in typical redraft leagues will be difficult.

The Dolphins have agreed to terms with WR Odell Beckham, Jr.

It's a 1-year, $3M deal with incentives that can push it up to $8.25M

Fantasy Impact:

Beckham should work as a rotational third wide receiver behind Hill and Waddle and figures to have some high-output weeks from time to time. He figures to be a headache in typical redraft leagues but will be an interesting addition in best ball leagues.

Chargers to sign WR D.J. Chark to one-year deal

Former Panthers WR and current FA DJ.. Chark has agreed to terms with the #Chargers on a 1-year deal worth up to $5M. A new landing spot for Chark, who visited with LAC before the Draft.

Fantasy Impact:

Chark, like most of the Panthers' pass-catchers, had a mediocre single season in Carolina, hauling in only 56.5% of his targets. It's been a long road since his 1,000+ yard season in 2019, but at the very least, he will offer Justin Herbert a little more firepower. He makes for a good dart throw in fantasy, as he could end up usurping Johnston and/or Palmer for snaps.
