Waiver Wire Watch Week 6

As a refresher, The Drop List consists of players who are rostered in at least 50% of Yahoo leagues and are no longer must-have assets, recommended additions are available in over 50% of Yahoo leagues, the Watch List contains in-depth notes on fringe waiver adds, and Deep Cuts includes player notes on those rostered in 5% or fewer of Yahoo and FFPC leagues.

Bye Weeks: Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans

The Drop List

In leagues where Geno Smith is still available, Russell Wilson is merely a roadblock to an individual with more upside: the QB18 in fantasy points per game (14.8), Wilson has cracked the top 15 in only one performance (Week 4 against the Raiders) all year. He remains 14-of-29 (48%) for two touchdowns inside the red zone for an offense that ranks 17th in yards per drive.

Rashaad Penny will miss the rest of the season with a fractured fibula. This is simply reassurance that you can ignore your lone IR slot in the hope he returns.

Seventy-seventh among all receivers in targets per game (4.2), Darnell Mooney's team-high 24.7% target share does not entail enough volume to chase in FLEX spots through the bye weeks. Note that 39 of Mooney’s 52 receiving yards against the Vikings were registered via a single catch.

Whereas Robert Woods (21.5% target share) and Odell Beckham (17%) were treated as the Rams' second receiver in the first- and second half of the season behind Cooper Kupp last year, Allen Robinson is clearly viewed as the team's third wideout behind Tyler Higbee (25%) this year. Thus he's droppable for a player with more upside — Khalil Shakir, Alec Pierce — down the road.

Tyler Conklin had run a route on 78.1% of dropbacks leading up to Week 5 when he was inexplicably used behind C.J. Uzomah (50%-34.6%) for the first time all year. Even if his surprisingly decreased usage was an anomaly, there's no denying any of Cade Otton, Hunter Henry, or Hayden Hurst as more confident options if their correlating teammates are ruled out.
