This will be Michael Vick’s first start since the end of the 2006 season with the Falcons. Vick’s team missed the playoffs that year, the results costing Jimmy Mora his job. Vick isn’t catching a break, either, because Philadelphia’s offensive line is hurting and now has Mike McGlynn starting at center for Jamaal Jackson, and Nick Cole (knee) and Todd Herremans (ankle) are banged up. To settle the offense, coach Andy Reid may want to run LeSean McCoy, but it seems impractical with FB Leonard Weaver gone for the season and Mike Bell and newly signed Owen Schmidt taking over. Vick’s ability to run and escape pressure may be the best antidote for a sub-par offensive line.
