Saturday won't be too late for the Chargers and Vincent Jackson to both get what they want. But it will be close.
Jackson is not going to play for the Chargers again. That is almost certain.
The Chargers need to let the guy go.
Of course, despite protestations to the contrary , until recently it was Jackson and his agents who were holding the Pro Bowl receiver hostage with their high contract demand. Maybe it will ultimately be A.J. Smith who keeps Jackson in bondage, but we won't know until the Jackson camp becomes reasonable.
Expect the asking price to come down, perhaps way down, from $50 million over five years.
