Houston Texans running back Steve Slaton left Saturday'...

Houston Texans running back Steve Slaton left Saturday's exhibition victory over the Dallas Cowboys early with turf toe. He had only three carries for six yards and did not return any kickoffs. Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said that Slaton is unlikely to play on Thursday in the preseason finale against the Buccaneers, but he could be ready for the regular season opener against the Colts on Sept. 12.

"My rookie year, the same thing happened against the Cowboys and I missed the last preseason game, so I guess it's a little bad luck with them," Slaton said. "But it'll get better. It's not too, too bad. I'll be ready… It'll heal with treatment. (I've got) plenty of time."
