Bengals hire Lions DC Teryl Austin as new defensive coordinator

Whether Teryl Austin ever really was a candidate to replace Jim Caldwell, only the Detroit Lions know for sure. But with the Lions' head coach job still officially open, Austin effectively withdrew his name from consideration Monday to become defensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Impact: 

The Lions yielded the eighth-most yards per play (5.5) and the 12th-most points (376) in 2017, but Austin's unit created the third-most turnovers (32).
