WR Rishard Matthews asks for release from Titans

On Wednesday evening, Rishard Matthews posted to his Instagram page, "When Daddy’s home for good. That is unless someone Calls him to get off the couch." He followed that up with a text to A to Z Sports Nashville saying, "Everything is good! Just wasn't happy with what was going on, barely getting any playing time. It was time to move on."

Fantasy Impact:

This surprise move has little immediate impact on the Titans from a fantasy standpoint as Matthews wasn't seeing much playing time anyway. It may help the potential for a Taywan Taylor breakout, but only minimally so. The bigger story here is where Matthews lands. A wide receiver-needy team like Dallas makes sense and would give Matthews immediate value as a WR3/WR4 with WR2/WR3 upside. Other teams that could use Matthews may include Houston, Indianapolis, Oakland, New Orleans, Carolina, Seattle and Arizona, among others. His value to fantasy owners will vary wildly depending on where he ends up, but if you have bench space, he is a great speculative add.
