Three-man competition for 49ers' WR2

A.J. Jenkins, Quinton Patton and Ricardo Lockette will compete during the remainder of the 49ers' offseason program to replace injured Michael Crabtree, 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said Friday on 95.7 The Game.

"We'll put Jenkins, Patton, Ricardo Lockette at the same position and let them compete and emerge," Harbaugh said on the O'Connell and Steinmetz show.

"The good news is somebody will emerge because they have to. Then on the other side, Anquan Boldin, Chad Hall . . . Marlon Moore has been doing some really nice things in the offseason. Joe Hastings will compete on the other side."

Fantasy Impact:

Mario Manningham wasn't mentioned because he has been unable to practice due to a torn ACL late in the season. He may be able to return at some point, but it sounds as if the 49ers are preparing to go with Jenkins, Patton or Lockette to start the season.
