Texans didn’t want to push Schaub

Matt Schaub, who was 10-of-14 for 108 yards and an interception, suffered a sprained left ankle while running for a first down in the first half. Schaub stayed on the field and led the Texans to their only touchdown. After getting his ankle taped, he returned for one more series before halftime and guided them to Kris Brown’s 46-yard field goal. Schaub, who was going to play three quarters, didn’t return in the second half. “Matt wanted to play, but we didn’t want to push it,” coach Gary Kubiak said. “He would have stayed in if this had been a regular-season game.”
