The entire Saints RB room won’t be available tomorrow bc of close contact to Alvin Kamara. Latavius Murry, Burton, Washington, RB coach all out tomorrow. They are moving Ty Montgomery to RB and calling up practice squad RB

Fantasy Impact:

It looks like Ty Montgomery will get the start at RB for New Orleans in Week 17. Taysom Hill should also have a meatier role in the run game this week, as well.

Carson Wentz to rest and rehab foot injury in the hopes of playing Week 1

Colts QB Carson Wentz will rest and rehab his foot injury over then next few days, rather than have immediate surgery.

Fantasy Impact:

The hope is the rest will allow Wentz to avoid surgery and be on track to play in Week 1 against the Seahawks. If the rest doesn’t immediately help, then surgery may be the answer and it’s unknown how long he would be out for if he does have to get surgery. Jacob Eason I has been getting time running as the first-team quarterback while Wentz is out and the Colts also signed Brett Hundley. At the very least, the connections on offense could be a bit shaky from the outset once Wentz does return and gets the timing down with the offense.

Dolphins place three tight ends, including Mike Gesicki, on reserve/COVID-19 list

The Dolphins placed TEs Mike Gesicki, Adam Shaheen and Cethan Carter on the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

All three are likely on the list as close contacts, as co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach George Godsey (who is vaccinated) did test positive for Covid. The players should likely see a short stay on the reserve list as just close contacts and if they test negative. Godsey was sent home after his positive test result.

Devonta Freeman signs one-year deal with Saints

And this was quick: Former Falcons’ standout Devonta Freeman and the Saints now have reached agreement on a one-year deal, per his agent @DrewJRosenhaus. Freeman reunited with his former college teammate, Jameis Winston.

Fantasy Impact:

This is an interesting signing for New Orleans, but Devonta Freeman joins a backfield led by Alvin Kamara with backup Latavius Murray and Dwayne Washington, and Ty Montgomery already vying for playing time. This could be a move to get Kamara more slot time with Michael Thomas out, but for now, Freeman isn't fantasy relevant.
