The Saints are placing WR Jordyn Tyson on injured reserve with the designation to return.

Fantasy Impact:

Tyson is dealing with a hamstring injury. His soft-tissue injury history in college was a concern in the pre-draft process, but the talent was strong enough for the Saints to take him 8th overall. He’ll now miss at least the first four games of the season. A report from Ian Rapoport about two weeks ago said Tyson could miss about two months, which would take him to the middle of October. Tyson still has value for the season, particularly on leagues with IR spots. For what it’s worth, the Saints’ bye week is Week 8.

Fantasy Impact:

There were rumblings over the weekend McCarthy would be let go, but the Vikings are going with four quarterbacks, at least for now, among their 53: Kyler Murray, McCarthy, Carson Wentz, Max Brosmer. There is still a chance the Vikings seek a trade for McCarthy. Keeping four quarterbacks gives them that potential flexibility. The extra time between roster cutdown and Week 1 makes this more possible than in previous years.

The Texans are placing WR Tank Dell on injured reserve with the designation to return.

Fantasy Impact:

The new rule allows teams to designate two players to return from injured reserve during the cutdown to 53. Previously, a player had to be on the initial 53-man roster before being placed on IR. This will allow Dell more time to recover as he makes his way back from his knee injury two seasons ago in the playoffs. He’ll miss at least the first four games of the season. The Texans recently traded for Kayshon Boutte after also losing Jayden Higgins to a season-ending injury and Jaylin Noel is also still dealing with an injury.

The Cowboys are waiving RB Jaydon Blue.

Fantasy Impact:

The Cowboys are also waiving Phil Mafah. Blue was thought to be a potential handcuff to Javonte Williams after appearing in five games last season. That spot could now fall to fifth-year running back Malik Davis. Dallas didn’t do much this offseason at the running back position, so Blue seemingly had a chance to stick around. We’ll see if latches on to the practice squad or gets a fresh start elsewhere.
