Saints Beat: RB Alvin Kamara got one snap after fumble in third quarter

By the looks of it, Saints RB Alvin Kamara's fumble took place with 4:06 left in the third quarter and he only received one snap after that, the 4th-and-4 interception. I asked Kellen Moore if there was intent behind the lack of snaps after the fumble:

"We were just trying to get things going. Alvin's a big part of this thing. It's unfortunate we had a turnover there. They won the [turnover] battle 2-0."

Fantasy Impact:

Kamara has been the subject of trade rumors with the deadline approaching, but has also been public with not wanting to leave the Saints. Kamara still led the Saints in carries but only had six for 14 yards, and added one catch for three yards. Neal had three rushes for 11 yards and also added one catch for just one yard. The Saints are looking to see what they have for the future, which seemingly isn't great news for Kamara owners, especially if he really doesn't want to be traded.

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) likely to deal with injury rest of year

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said last week that there was some hope that Brock Purdy could serve as the backup or emergency quarterback for Sunday’s road game against the Giants, but he ultimately remained on the inactive list due to turf toe while Mac Jones started for the fifth straight game.

“No, nothing changes Mac Jones in that way,” Shanahan said, via 49ersWebzone.com. “We’re trying to ease Brock out there in the practice stuff, but anytime you’re dealing with this turf toe, it’s something that probably won’t fully go away all year. Regardless of when he comes back, he’s going to always have to deal with it a little bit, especially with the people you talk to who have gone through turf toe.”

The story went on to say Shanahan said Purdy, “wasn’t that close to doing it,” as far as being the backup, despite a week of limited practice work for Purdy. Shanahan also addressed the difficulty of knowing when Purdy is close enough to 100 percent to play by saying that the toe issue is unlikely to go away, although he added that he doesn’t think that uncertainty weighs on Jones’ preparations from week to week. Reports again say Purdy has a chance to play in Week 10 against the Rams, which is a later Sunday home game for the Niners.

LaFleur: Kraft knee injury ‘does not look good’

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters after Sunday’s game that the knee injury to tight end Tucker Kraft “does not look good.”

Update: The fear is that Kraft suffered a torn ACL Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Kraft was carted off during the second half against the Panthers after needing help off the field. This would be a huge blow for the Packers as Kraft has arguably been the best tight end in both real and fantasy football this season. Luke Musgrave would step in as the top tight end.

Kayshon Boutte ruled out with hamstring injury

Patriots WR Kayshon Boutte left Sunday’s game against the Falcons with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Impact:

Boutte left the game in the first half and was originally ruled questionable to return before later changed to out for the day. Boutte’s absence would leave quite a void in the Patriots’ wide receiver corps.
