Jaguars may lose QB Blaine Gabbert for an extended period of time. Source says he heard his hamstring pop. No definitive time table though.

Gabbert has been ruled out for Week 6 so Chad Henne will get the start and would be enough of an upgrade to bump up the values of WR Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts, too.

Jags receiver Justin Blackmon’s four-game suspension is over, and he is allowed to be on the practice field with the Jaguars starting Monday.

Blackmon will only help this struggling offense, but at the same time will be limited as long as Blaine Gabbert his the QB. Like Cecil Shorts this season, Blackmon was much better last year when Chad Henne was the QB. The team announced Sunday they are sticking with Gabbert, at least for now, so Blackmon and Shorts are a lot riskier plays. That said, if Blackmon is on your wire and you're hurting at the position, he's certainly worth a flier.

Lewis lasted three snaps in his season debut before re-aggravating a left calf strain.

Lewis originally injured the calf during warm-ups prior to the second preseason game against the New York Jets Aug. 17. He suffered a setback during practice in the week leading up to the regular-season opener against Kansas City.

Lewis had missed three games in his entire career with the Jaguars and now will be out indefinitely.

Clay Harbor is next up at the position but with Blaine Gabbert at QB it seems like downgrades are necessary for all Jacksonville receivers.

Jags HC Gus Bradley said he’s sticking with quarterback Blaine Gabbert, despite a 17-for-32, three-interception performance.

Some of the mistakes were on receivers for breaking off routes, Bradley said.

“I’m staying strong with Blaine because he competed and he’s doing what we asked him to do,” he said.

Gabbert's hand laceration is apparently healed enough to start Week 4. The Jags likely want to see if they have anything in Gabbert despite him not showing much so far in his career. WR Justin Blackmon is due back in Week 5 after suspension, so maybe we'll get to see what happens when the full offense is back together. For now, WR Cecil Shorts isn't as safe of a play as he seemed to be with Chad Henne.
