Percy Harvin may have a slight tear in hip

Percy Harvin's first training camp with the Seattle Seahawks begins on the physically unable to perform list.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that Harvin has a possible slight tear in the labrum of his hip and will get a second opinion early next week, according to a source who is aware of Harvin's condition. The team will know more about his availability then.

Fantasy Impact:

We asked our injury expert/physical therapist Russ Manalastas (@russmanalastas) about Harvin's injury and he had this to say about its possible severity: "It doesn't sound good whenever you're dealing with a hip and a football player. Ed Reed had a labral debridement for the Texans this year and recovery can depend on if it was just a clean up or a full repair. It's usually 2 1/2 months if just a debridement, if it's a full repair, 6 months isn't out of the question. Alex Rodriguez had a hip labral repair and you can see the length that it takes for recovery. Obviously, it's a different sport but still the violent nature of having to cut on a dime as a receiver doesn't sound good for Harvin." Stay tuned. We should know more early next week after Harvin gets a second opinion.
