Jason Witten, Fullback?

Jason Witten, a tight end by trade with the Dallas Cowboys, is ready to be used at fullback in Sunday's game against Tennessee.

It is out of necessity. Chris Gronkowski, the only true fullback on the roster, missed his second consecutive practice today because of a strained groin. If Gronkowski cannot play, the Cowboys will use Witten and fellow tight end Scott Chandler at fullback.

"It's a tough job,'' Witten said. "I don't have the ideal look: big, thick neck. You have to be able to improvise. It's not just me. It's everybody. When you have different personnel, it helps keep the defense guessing.''

Witten said he has recovered from a sprained ligament in the right knee, an injury received 12 days ago in the win at Houston, and should be able to play against Tennessee without limitations.

"I'm eager to get back to playing,'' Witten said. "I really think this team is ready to play.''

Fantasy Impact:

If Witten is at fullback, that means more blocking, and that won't help his fantasy value. We're not saying you should sit him because of this, but it is something fantasy owners should be aware of.
