Favre consulted Dr. James Andrews

QB Brett Favre consulted renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews this week regarding his injured throwing shoulder, according to a report. On Thursday night, ESPN.com reported Andrews and Favre experimented with an exercise that could help his partially torn biceps tendon release on its own, which could help the pain subside and allow him to return. Favre's consultation with Andrews is an indication that he's interesting in playing for the Vikings, especially if doesn't need surgery to play again. Favre has confided to friends that he will not have major reconstructive surgery. It's possible that less invasive arthroscopic surgery could help the quarterback play again and require just a 3-6 week rehabilitation process, but that would be "unappealing" for Favre.
