Eagles Vick, McCoy have rib injuries

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick sustained cartilage injuries to his second and third ribs but has no broken bones as a result of a hit that forced him to leave Sunday's 17-12 loss to the Washington Redskins.

Vick wasn't the only one to suffer a chest injury. Running back LeSean McCoy fractured one rib, head coach Andy Reid said, in the second quarter. McCoy finished the game, piling up 174 total yards on 28 touches.

Neither Vick nor McCoy has been ruled out of next Sunday night's game at San Francisco.

As he walked through a hallway at the NovaCare Complex, Vick said he was feeling "better," but Reid acknowledged that his QB was still "sore."

Both cornerback Asante Samuel and receiver Riley Cooper suffered concussions, which Reid referred to as "mild."

Fantasy Impact:

The status of both players is in doubt for next week against the 49ers in the Sunday night game. That's already a disadvantage if they turn out to be "game time" decisions. Mike Bell is next in line at the RB position, but hasn't had a lot of work so far and hasn't been impressive when he does touch the ball, but would figure to get a bulk of the carries. Kolb would start at QB if Vick can't go, and while he played better last week, there's still not a lot of reason to be excited about starting him if you're a Vick owner.
