Colts WR Collie suffers possible concussion

Colts WR Austin Collie’s situation makes you hope for the best while fearing something more ominous. He was whacked by Steelers’ cornerback Ike Taylor on a second-down pass from QB Andrew Luck. Collie wobbled to the sideline, then was taken to the locker room where he was evaluated for concussion symptoms.

In 2010, Collie suffered two concussions that ended his second season. He continues to tell me the only time he thinks about head trauma is when the media asks him about it, but Sunday only will fuel the fire and the concern over Collie’s long-term well being.

It’s doubtful we’ll see him the rest of the preseason.

Fantasy Impact:

Collie's concussion history is the real concern here, but from a fantasy perspective it could mean Donnie Avery, assuming he can get healthy, gets more time. It also would appear Reggie Wayne could see a lot more action as a go-to receiver. Avery is ranked 80th while Wayne is 34th on our WR chart. Wayne's ADP is the 9th round, but that could start to go up. LaVon Brazill and T.Y. Hilton could also be in the mix, and Brazill has already been working with the first team.
