Buccaneers agree to terms with Leonard Fournette

It’s an agreement in principle on a one-year deal between Leonard Fournette and the Buccaneers, per source.

Fantasy Impact:

It's a pretty good landing spot for Fournette and his owners, but Ronald Jones owners have to be cursing their luck. First, the Bucs signed LeSean McCoy, and now Fournette. Jones currently sits atop an unsettled depth chart, but should safely start Week 1 against the Saints and will have the first crack at cementing himself as the team's RB1. Signing for $2M in base salary (with incentives), Fournette projects as a real-world RB1b who should be in position to take advantage once he gets up to speed, if Jones falters in the starting role. (Carlos Hyde signed for $2.8 M to back up Chris Carson.) Jones 5th/6th ADP now looks very, very pricey. Both players should be going around the same range as other high-upside backups like Latavius Murray, Alexander Mattison, and Tony Pollard, though those players should have more of an early-season role than Fournette will.
