Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase not practicing today after he banged up his left knee yesterday. Was not sporting any protective equipment on the knee, FWIW.

This looks like a precautionary DNP as opposed to evidence of a substantial setback. The absence of protective equipment is encouraging, although it isn’t medical clearance. Chase remains WR1 and No. 3 overall for now; an additional missed practice or unfavorable testing would change the level of concern. Higgins would gain the most if Chase’s availability became uncertain.

Patrick Mahomes expects to play when the Chiefs take the field for the first Monday Night Football game of the season, September 14 against the Broncos.

Fantasy Impact:

Mahomes noted that he was told when he tore his ACL last year that it would be a nine-month recovery, and the Chiefs’ opener is nine months to the day since he suffered the injury, the story pointed out. There was never really a doubt Mahomes was going to play Week 1. He's seemingly been ahead of schedule all offseason. The story quoted Mahomes as saying, "This has always been the plan. From the day I got the surgery, as quick as I did, to hopefully the first game of the year, the plan will go accordingly, and I’ll be able to go out there and be myself."

Saints RB Ty Chandler (knee) to miss season

Saints running back Ty Chandler will miss the entire season with a knee injury, coach Kellen Moore confirmed Tuesday.

Chandler was injured during the preseason game against the Rams.

Fantasy Impact:

With Kamara sidelined with an MCL sprain and Neal dealing with a hamstring injury, the Saints traded for running back White this week, the story pointed out. We reported earlier that Miller said he is ready to take on a bigger role this season and he very well may have to, at least early on in the season.

Bills RB Ty Johnson (leg) has resumed running

Bills running back Ty Johnson has resumed running, said Joe Brady, and no decision has been made about Johnson's availability for Week 1.

With every injured player, Brady emphasized the amount of time until Week 1.

Fantasy Impact:

The mystery timeline for Johnson being ready by Week 1 isn't necessarily the big fantasy news here. Cook will likely carry a heavier workload as a result if Johnson can't go, but the backup duties would fall to Davis and/or Gore. So if you believe in handcuffing your stud RB in fantasy drafts, this is likely worth following. For what it's worth, Davis did have a 21-151-0 line with 2 catches for 23 yards and a TD in last year's Week 17 game against the Jets.
