Rob Gronkowski injury watch is officially on for the 2017 season.
The New England Patriots tight end was listed with an official injury for the first time this season during the team's Week 2 win over the New Orleans Saints.
On his sixth catch of the day, Gronkowski appeared to come down awkwardly on a hit and was taken off the field to the blue pop-up injury tent on the sideline. He did not return to the game.
Gronkowski was listed as questionable to return to the game with a groin injury. As of Monday morning, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the issue is not believed to be serious.

The story didn't offer a timetable, and, we're not likely to get one from the Patriots at any point, so this is probably going to be a wait-and-see issue; perhaps even a game-time issue. The good news is the Pats play an early contest in Week 3 against Houston. Meanwhile, Allen is next up on the depth chart and will likely see some action on the waiver wire this week. Allen didn't record a catch after Gronk went down, but Hollister did catch one ball for five yards.
