Panthers QB Cam Newton is heading to Green Bay to visit foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson.
This is interesting as it seems like Newton may not be as close to returning as we originally thought he was. The timing seems interesting as well, as this is coming out on a Friday and the Panthers aren't traveling this week, as they are home against the Titans. Other than that, there wasn't much detail other than Anderson reporting a source told her they spotted Newton on a plane that landed in Chicago first. Kyle Allen was once again named the starter early in the week and it's fair to think that will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future. We'll certainly keep an eye on this one, but for now, the thought is Newton may not be close to 100 percent.
