An Expert's Cheat Sheet to Dominating NFL.com Fantasy Football Drafts

Fantasy football draft season is upon us, and I’m here to provide a game plan for attacking NFL.com fantasy drafts. A standard draft consists of 15 rounds and follows a snake order as the draft progresses. One important note is that ADP changes significantly depending on the scoring format. In PPR leagues, targets are king regardless of position, whereas overall production matters more in half-PPR and standard scoring formats. For reference, NFL.com’s default setting is PPR.

ADP can also be influenced by roster settings. For example, if your league uses a superflex spot instead of a regular flex, QB value increases dramatically. In that case, QBs shift from being a position you can wait on to a scarce resource by the middle rounds. Always be mindful of your league settings and do your homework on any unique rules or roster quirks.

For this cheatsheet, the focus will be on NFL.com’s default settings. In 10-team leagues, the roster consists of one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end, one flex (RB/WR/TE), one defense/special teams, and one kicker, along with six bench spots.

Prioritize Wide Receivers, Wait on Tight Ends

From the multi-site ADP comparison tool, here’s what stands out on NFL.com in the top 100:

  • QBs are going ~3 spots higher.
  • RBs are going ~5 spots lower.
  • TEs are going ~5 spots higher.
  • WRs are going ~8 spots lower.
