NCAAB Conference Tournament Betting Preview: Mountain West
It wasn't that long ago the Mountain West Conference was considered a one-bid league. Ever since No. 3 seed New Mexico was upset by Harvard in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, the Mountain West has become the Rodney Dangerfield of mid-major conferences.
Until this season.
The Mountain West projects to have four teams in the NCAA Tournament field, more than the Pac-12 and American Athletic Conference. The teams at the top—Boise State, San Diego State, Wyoming and Colorado State—all have the ability to win multiple games regardless of the opponent. All four teams have superior defensive foundations, coupled with explosive offensive players.
The 6-11 seeds start on Wednesday before quarterfinal action begins in full on Thursday afternoon. The top four seeds and fifth-seeded UNLV received byes. The games are played on four consecutive days, with the eventual champion earning the Mountain West crown on Saturday.

Mountain West Conference Tournament History
Either San Diego State or Utah State has won each of the past four Mountain West Tournament titles. The Aztecs have been the dominant team in the conference's history, winning six of the 22 tournament crowns. New Mexico is second with four championships, with UNLV tallying three.
For the overwhelming majority of years, the location of the tournament was Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Thomas & Mack Center. There was a brief three-year hiatus to the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado from 2004-2006. This tournament is always competitive, as there have been six different champions in the past eight seasons.
