The Best NFL DFS GPPs to Play in Week 5

Contest selection is just as important as the lineup builds itself, and depending on your bankroll, it will determine which GPPs are the plays for you. Understanding tournament structures is crucial, and the main three things I look at are the percentage of the field that is paid, how much you make if you min-cash, and how much rake is being taken by the site. Another consideration is how much money goes to first place and beyond, also known as how flat or top-heavy a contest is. DraftKings and FanDuel offer various contests that can fit your need and give you the ability to optimize your bankroll. You will also notice that I only suggest contests that you can max enter given your price range because it is optimal to be at a level playing field. Best GPPs to Play on DraftKings

Contests to play with $20 on DraftKings

First Down (20 Max) - $1 contest, 20-entry max, 297,265 total entries, 27% paid, 1.50x min-cash multiplier and 15.9% rake. This contest is best for the players who want to have as many lineups and lottery tickets as the next guy but are on a limited bankroll. For $20, you aren't going to be able to max out many contests, but this one fits perfectly.
Fair Catch (SE) - $12 contest, single-entry, 29,411 total entries, 20% paid, 2.08x min-cash multiplier and 15.0% rake. This contest is best for the players that want to focus on one specific lineup and be on a level playing field as everybody else.
Nickel (3 Max) - $5 contest, three-max, 23,781 total entries, 20% paid 2.00x min-cash multiplier and 15.9% rake. This contest is best for players who want to get a specific build together and fit in the two other combos they enjoy. Three-max games are a different dynamic, and the best way to approach them is a 0% or 100% exposure idea with certain players to maximize leverage.

Contests to play with $100 on DraftKings

End Zone (SE) - $75 contest, single-entry, 454 total entries, 25.1% paid 1.67x min-cash multiplier and 11.9% rake. As you get up in stakes, the rake becomes lower, and the contests become better structured. The players who will get the most out of this are the people who want one perfect build and an equal playing field. The payout is noticeably flatter this week compared to Week 4.
Spy (SE) - $100 contest, single-entry, 5,555 total entries, 20.9% paid, 1.50x min-cash multiplier and 10.0% rake. This contest is for the player chasing after the huge payout and isn't shooting to just min-cash.
Spy (SE) - $100 contest single-entry, 555 total entries, 21.6% paid, 2.00x min-cash multiplier, and 9.9% rake. This Spy contest is different in size and structure of payout. You have 10% going to first place and 15% going to 10th while in the other Spy contest it is 25% to first and 3% to 10th. The flatter payout and smaller field suits the player that is willing to sacrifice upside to try and smooth weekly variance.

Contests to play with $500 on DraftKings

Power Sweep (3 Max) - $150 contest, three-entry max, 5,185 total entries, 21.1% paid ,1.50x min-cash multiplier and 10.0% rake. This is for the player chasing the top prize of $150,000 and wants to max out the contest. No other three entry max comes close to the $150,000 payout.
Spin Move (SE) - $300 contest, single-entry, 185 total entries, 27.0% paid, 1.67x min-cash multiplier and 9.9% rake. You only have to beat out 185 players for $10,000, and it has the highest-paid rate among tournaments on DraftKings this week.
Double Spy (SE) - $200 contest, single-entry, 833 total entries, 21.0% paid, 2.00x min-cash multiplier and 10.0% rake. This is for the player that wants to have a decent reward for beating 80% of the field with the 2x min-cash but with some opportunity at a big payday with $30,000 going to first place.

Contests to play with $1,000 on DraftKings

Power Sweep (3 Max) - $150 contest, three-entry max, 5,185 total entries, 21.1% paid ,1.50x min-cash multiplier and 10.0% rake. This is for the player chasing the top prize of $150,000 and wants to max out the contest. No other three entry max comes close to the $150,000 payout.
Spin Move (SE) - $300 contest, single-entry, 185 total entries, 27.0% paid 1.67x min-cash multiplier and 9.9% rake. You only have to beat out 185 players for $7,000, and it has the highest-paid % amongst tournaments.
Power Sweep (3 Max) - $150 contest, three entry max, 740 total entries, 23.4% paid, 1.50x min-cash multiplier, and 9.9% rake. This Power Sweep contest is much smaller, which creates a higher percentage of people getting paid out. $15,000 to first place, and more than 4,000 fewer lineups in competition.

Contests to play with $20 on FanDuel

Three and Out (3 Max) - $3 contest, three-,entry max, 9,920 total entries, 25.2% paid, 2.00x min-cash multiplier and 16.0% rake. This contest is for the player wanting to learn three-max games and have a smaller field.
Spike (SE) - $5 contest, single-entry, 16,666 total entries, 24.0% paid, 2.00x min-cash multiplier and 16.0% rake. This contest is for players that want to play multiple contests and get a chance at a good single-entry payday.
Scramble (SE) - $10 contest, single entry, 9,411 total entries, 26.6% paid, 2.00x min-cash multiplier and 15.0% rake. This contest is for players that want to play multiple contests and get a chance at an $8,000 payday.

Contests to play with $100 on FanDuel

Stiff Arm (SE) - $75 contest, single-entry, 1,060 total entries, 25.0% paid, 2.00x min-cash multiplier and 11.9% rake. This contest is for the player that wants to be in a low-sized single-entry with a high paid percentage. This contest is the only one that $100 can max out with less than 1,100 players in the pool.
Hot Route (SE) - $50 contest, single-entry, 2,272 total entries, 25.3% paid, 2.00x min-cash multiplier and 12.0% rake. This contest is for the player after the huge ROI that wants to play more lineups in other contests at this bankroll, such as the next GPP.
Onside Kick (3 Max) - $15 contest, three-entry max, 2,745 total entries, 25.0% paid, 2.00x min-cash multiplier and 15.0% rake. This contest pairs very well with the Hot Route SE and gives you a great opportunity to learn how three-max works.

Contests to play with $500 on FanDuel

Touchdown (5 Max) - $65 contest, five-max, 699 total entries, 24.9% paid, 1.92x min-cash multiplier and 12.0% rake. This contest is one of the best on FanDuel, with a top-10 payout that doesn't significantly decrease from first. This contest has a good payout for 10th place and rewards the player that has consistently good results.
Fade (SE) - $222 contest, single-entry, 500 total entries, 25.0% paid, 1.80x min-cash multiplier and 9.9% rake. This is the lowest rake of any tournament lower than $400 and has a great top-10 prize structure.
End Zone (3 Max) -$150 contest, three-max, 378 total entries, 25.1% paid, 2.00x min-cash multiplier and 11.8% rake. This contest is perfect for those wanting to limit the field and still go after a big payday.

Contests to play with $1,000 on FanDuel

Luxury Box (SE) - $535 contest, single-entry, 200 total entries, 25.0% paid, 1.87x min-cash multiplier and 6.5% rake. This contest is perfect for the player that wants the lowest amount taken away from the prize pool and a pretty good prize structure with 10th place getting 10% of what first place wins.
Crazy Eights (SE) - $888 contest, single-entry, 123 total entries, 23.6% paid, 1.69 total entries and 8.4% rake. This contest is for the player that has the bankroll to mass multi enter but doesn't want to and compete for $20,000.
Sunday Million -$5 contest, 595,238 total entries, 23.0% paid, 1.60x min-cash multiplier, and 16.0% rake. This contest is for the player that can max-enter 150 lineups and wants to go after the $1,000,000 prize. This contest is not profitable every week, but if you have the bankroll, you give yourself the best chance to take it down.
