Players to Target in Every Round of Fantasy Football Drafts

Have you felt it? That ubiquitous, joyous feeling permeating the very air we breathe? Yes, my friends, that feeling is the return of fantasy football draft season.

In a matter of weeks, the vast majority of us will be logging in or getting together to complete our season-long fantasy football drafts. It’s truly the most wonderful time of year. And with that in mind, below I’ve gone round-by-round highlighting one of my favorite players to draft in each round. I skipped Round 1 because, well, everyone is great in Round 1, and I skipped the last few rounds (of standard length drafts) because those should generally be used on your kicker and defense. ADP was based on 4for4’s ADP tool. For more ADP bargains, check out the ADP Bargain tool as well as my site-by-site look at the greatest draft values.

Now, without further adieu, let’s get to it.

Round 2 - RB Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns

Despite never receiving more than three carries in a game until Week 7, Chubb took the fantasy world by storm last season with an impressive 192-carry, 996-yard, eight-touchdown performance. I love him even more in Round 2 now that Duke Johnson was traded to the Texans. Johnson frees up 62 targets and 47 receptions, and while some of that will go to the other pass-catchers, it’s a great sign for Chubb’s upside as a more complete back this year. He’s a talented back with pass-catching upside in what should be a high-scoring offense. Sign me up.

Round 3 - RB Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers

Everything is coming up Milhouse for Jones this offseason. He’s expected to be featured as the lead back in a new offense, he improved his diet, and so far he’s healthy. Jones has averaged 5.5 yards per carry through his career, and with only 214 career carries he has plenty of tread on the tires. Derrick Henry exploded in LaFleur’s offense down the stretch last year. Jones has the chance for a monster campaign in 2019 and is worth the third-round pick.

Round 4 - WR Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
