Sneaky Starts: Week 2

All but the luckiest fantasy owners at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough – a waiver wire or bench player capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.

Spencer Ware, Theo Riddick and Will Fuller were a few of the standout Sneaky Starts from Week 1. Let’s take a look at Week 2:

Quarterbacks

Joe Flacco, Ravens (@ CLE)
In his last three meetings with the Browns, Flacco has averaged 246 yards, 1.3 TD, 0.3 INT and a solid 7.21 YPA. The Browns just yielded 278 yards and two touchdowns to a rookie QB who didn’t play much in the preseason.

Jay Cutler, Bears (vs. PHI)
The Eagles gave up an average of 267 yards and 2.3 TD through the air last year. They fared better against the Browns last week, but that shouldn’t dissuade streamers from dialing up Cutler this week.

Brock Osweiler, Texans (vs. KC)
Osweiler delivered 16.6 fantasy points last week in a good matchup with the Bears. The Chiefs are banged up defensively and just gave up 27 points in a home game against the Chargers.

Dak Prescott, Cowboys (@ WAS)
I’m not ready to give up on the rookie, but his 25-for-45, 5.0 YPA, zero-TD outing at home against the worst pass defense in the league in 2015 (yardage-wise) is a little worrisome. Ben Roethlisberger just carved up the Redskins on Monday night, so Dallas should have a blueprint for attacking Washington in the passing game.

Trevor Siemian, Broncos (vs. IND)
This is a pure matchup play, though I don’t think Siemian looked bad on Thursday night. The Colts gave up 39 points to the Lions and yielded 340 yards and three touchdowns to Matthew Stafford. Siemian should be good for 250 yards and 1-2 touchdowns.
