When it comes to DFS lineups, looking at matchups and opportunities will be key in constructing a winning lineup. Everyone knows that Calvin Johnson is a top receiver, but that doesn’t necessarily make him a slam dunk starter every week in DFS (especially this week against the Seahawks). Johnson is typically one of the most expensive WRs, but there will always be one with a cheaper price tag in a similar spot for production with a better matchup.

Each week, I’ll help you exploit specific defensive players and also touch on non-skill offensive players (read: the offensive line) to help you make the right choices on which players to roster and which players to fade.

Last week we had our hits with Rishard Matthews, Cam Newton, Jeremy Maclin and Latavius Murray. We also had misses with Isaiah Crowell, T.J. Yeldon, and Allen Robinson. Let’s enjoy the wins and try to increase our hit rate even more in Week 4.

Situations to Exploit in the Passing Game

Let’s start off with the low hanging fruit and get it out of the way. Target the Chicago Bears passing defense with extreme prejudice. Cornerbacks Alan Ball and Kyle Fuller are allowing near-perfect QB ratings (137.5 and 150.9, respectively) on balls thrown their way. Ball is allowing 14.4 yards per reception, while Fuller is allowing 18.3 yards per reception. Amari Cooper dominated Pro-Bowler Joe Haden last week, so imagine what he’s going to do to this group. Michael Crabtree is also in play, as he’s seen at least eight targets in each of his three games.
