Fantasy Football Sneaky Starts: Week 6

McCoy

As injuries pile up and the bye weeks continue, all but the luckiest fantasy owners will at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough -- a waiver wire or bench player who is capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.

QUARTERBACKS

Colt McCoy, Browns
The Raiders have been weak against the pass, giving up the fourth-most Adjusted FP to QBs this season. McCoy has been steady; he is 2011's QB14 on a per game basis. It's also a plus that the Browns are coming off of a bye, so they've had two weeks to prepare for the Raiders.
Mark Sanchez, Jets
The Dolphins have yielded the third-most Adjusted FP to QBs thus far, and Sanchez was able to throw two TDs against the Patriots in Week 5. There's talk that the Jets are going to throw the ball downfield a bit more, but the offensive line has to protect Sanchez to give him time. We'll see.
Andy Dalton, Bengals
Dalton has been pretty solid this season. He has thrown six TDs in five games and had three TDs in the last two weeks (against JAX and BUF). The Colts have allowed the fourth-most Adjusted FP to QBs, so Dalton is a decent desperation start for fantasy owners scrambling at the QB position.
