Week 3 at Washington Redskins
Davante Adams caught eight of the 12 passes on which he was targeted last week for 64 yards and a score. He's now caught TD passes in both games this week, which is what was expected of him working with Aaron Rodgers. He's now scored in four straight games dating back to last season. And he did his solid work last week against Xavier Rhodes. Washington is allowing just 8.1 yards per completion, but that's a result of who the Redskins have played, not their defensive talent. Adams is a WR1 start.
Week 2 vs. Minnesota Vikings
Davante Adams finished last week against Chicago catching five of his eight targets for 88 yards and a touchdown. That's a solid start and what you should expect to be an average game for Adams this season, as he takes over the unquestioned No. 1 WR role. He's dealing with a shoulder injury this week, but should give it a go. The bigger issue is Aaron Rodgers' knee. If Rodgers goes, Adams should be fine—even if he draws extra attention. If not, Adams' value takes a big hit.
Week 1 vs. Chicago Bears
Davante Adams is a hot name in fantasy circles as he takes over as the unquestioned No. 1 receiver in Green Bay. In two games against Chicago last year, he produced lines of 2-19-1 and 5-90-1. Interestingly enough, that first line came with Aaron Rodgers at QB. But with Jordy Nelson gone, Adams is going to get targets -- lots of them. That should help him produce as a No. 1 fantasy receiver, even though he will no doubt get plenty of attention from the Bears.
Fantasy Upside
With Jordy Nelson now in Oakland, Davante Adams takes over as the unquestioned No. 1 receiver in Green Bay. He's also still just 25 despite this being his fifth year in the league, so there's plenty of upside -- as if playing with Aaron Rodgers wasn't enough. He's gotten 121 and 117 targets in the previous two seasons and should see that climb above 140 this season. He's also reached double digits in TD receptions in each of the past two seasons.
Fantasy Downside
With Nelson gone, Adams is going to draw a lot more attention this season. He's also never topped 1,000 yards receiving in a season, despite recording 75 and 74 catches in the past two seasons. He's not much of a deep threat.
2018 Bottom Line
Even with Nelson gone, the addition of Jimmy Graham could eat into Adams' production in the red zone somewhat. But there's plenty of room for more than one guy to eat with Rodgers at QB. Adams is currently being selected as a WR1 in most leagues with an ADP of late second, early third round. There are a handful of guys you'd rather have, but not many. Adams should easily be a top-10 fantasy WR in all formats this season thanks to his scoring ability and move to the clear-cut No. 1 target in Green Bay's offense.
Week 15 at Carolina Panthers
Davante Adams had another 10 catches for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns last week and now gets Aaron Rodgers back in the lineup. Considering he was the only Packers receiver to show any consistency without Rodgers in the lineup, he should continue to produce, though some of the TD catches might start going back to Jordy Nelson again.
Week 14 at Cleveland Browns
Davante Adams had 4 catches for 42 yards last week, which doesn't sound like much until you consider that accounted for half of Brett Hundley's passing yards. Adams has been the main cog in the in the Green Bay passing offense every week with Hundley at quarterback. He should produce enough to serve as a high-end WR2 or low-end WR1, though there is always room for another stinker.
Week 13 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Davante Adams had 5 catches for 82 yards and a touchdown last week and is now good to go as a WR1 every week. He's shown more than enough with Brett Hundley at QB to prove he is the Packers' most valuable receiver. Tampa's defense has allowed opposing receivers to post over 300 receiving yards in each of the past two games. Adams should post solid numbers again this week.
Week 12 at Pittsburgh Steelers
Davante Adams had 8 catches for 120 yards last week and hasn't missed a beat with Brett Hundley in the lineup—though scoring is a problem. But Adams has 20 receptions in the past three games, and considering the Packers will be forced to throw in this game, he's the surest thing in the Green Bay passing attack. Use Adams as a WR2 and hope he keeps rolling,
Week 11 vs. Baltimore Ravens
Davante Adams had 5 catches for 90 yards and a score last week and now has 12 receptions in the past two weeks. He's easily the most valuable Packers receiver moving forward. The Ravens have only given up five touchdowns to opposing wideouts this season, but two came last week against Tennessee. Adams should get enough work to serve as a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 WR this week.
Week 10 at Chicago Bears
Davante Adams led the Packers in targets with 10 last week and turned them into 7 catches for 53 yards. He seems to have a better rapport with Brett Hundley than Jordy Nelson or Randall Cobb. That being said, the Bears are a tough matchup. They haven't allowed a WR to score in their past four games. Adams is a low-end WR3 this week.
