Buccaneers hope WR Mike Evans (hamstring) can practice this week

Good news for the Bucs: The hope is Mike Evans, Benjamin Morrison and Zyon McCollum can return to practice this week.

Fantasy Impact:

The return of Evans would be a nice boost to the Bucs offense. The team next plays on Monday night against the Lions so Evans' owners will need to hope he isn't a game-time call. Egbuka is likely going to miss Week 7 with a hamstring injury and Godwin has already been ruled out leaving Shepard and Tez and Kam Johnson to be the other WRs. It very well could be a high-scoring affair next Monday against the Lions.

Bucs HC Todd Bowles told reporters that RB Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) and Chris Godwin (fibula) are “not in play” for next Monday night’s game against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Impact:

It's disappointing news but it's at least nice to know heading into waivers this week and when the time comes to set your lineup. The hope for Irving is he's back for Week 8, but the Bucs do have a bye in Week 9, so that could also be a factor in any decisions. Neither Godwin or Irving were placed on IR, so the hope is both are back inside of four weeks. The Bucs hope Evans can play this week, but Egbuka is likely out with a hamstring issue. White will get a majority of the touches at RB with Irving out and Tucker will get a share as well - as the Bucs continue to shuffle guys in and out of their lineup.

Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka will miss time with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy Impact:

Egbuka will get an MRI today. Rapoport said the injury doesn't seem as serious as Evans' hamstring injury, but it's looking like he's going to at least miss this week's game against the Lions. The Bucs then play the Saints before their Week 9 bye, so it's very possible we don't see Egbuka until Week 10. Rapoport said Evans is getting closer to a return and Godwin is week to week. Anyone on the Bucs who plays the WR position could be in play for fantasy lineups, at least for Week 7. It was Kam Johnson and Tez Johnson who both stood out with TD catches against the 49ers.

Fantasy Impact:

Godwin hasn't looked quite the same since coming back in Week 4, turning 14 targets into six catches and 52 yards. We would say this would open the door for more Egbuka usage, but he's already been the focal point of the offense with Godwin ailing and Mike Evans missing time.

Shepard moves closer up in dart-throw territory, while this *could* finally be a game where Otton makes for a sensible TE streamer.
