Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reports that RB Lamar Miller is expected to sign with the Bears and join their practice squad.

Fantasy Impact: 

The Bears are without Tarik Cohen for the rest of the season and have little experience from RBs Ryan Nall and Artavis Pierce. Miller could come in and eventually command a small piece of the Bears backfield touches, but do not expect him to overtake David Montgomery.

RB Lamar Miller was among the Patriots’ final cuts on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact: 

Miller had just signed with the team in August as insurance policy and depth behind Sony Michel, who was dealing a foot injury. Michel has since returned from his injury and even with the injury questions on Damien Harris, New England let go of the former Texan and Dolphin. The Patriots must feel pretty good about the likelihood of Michel being available for Week 1 against Miami.

Running back Lamar Miller practiced for the first time with his new team Monday.

Miller spent all of training camp, which ended Sunday, on the Patriots’ active/physically unable to perform list. He passed his physical, and the Patriots activated him from the PUP list.

Fantasy Impact: 

Miller, 29, tore an anterior cruciate ligament in the 2019 preseason while still with the Texans. Most think Miller is a depth signing since Michel remains on the PUP list and could miss the start of the season. Harris has looked good so far in camp thus far but White remains the back to own on the Patriots.

Damien Harris has been the Patriots’ best running back in camp, but it’s not limited to his ball-carrying ability, which he showed off again with a 10-yard touchdown run. He did a nice job to pick up a block in pass protection to help Newton deliver a touchdown pass.

Fantasy Impact: 

Obviously picking up blitzes is a huge deal for young running backs, so that's good news for Harris. The story said Harris has looked comfortable with his route tree as well. Perhaps the key thing to take away from the story is if Harris can be effective in both phases, he could be on the field a ton this season.
