Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) did not practice Wednesday. He sat out Thursday as well. Justin Davis (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday. HC Sean McVay said that he expects Gurley to play, but it’s no sure thing. The Rams play late on Sunday, so Gurley owners should pick up John Kelly if possible, since with Davis’s shoulder injury, Kelly is the most likely candidate to fill in for Gurley. C.J. Anderson was just signed but it’s doubtful that he’ll get up to speed quickly enough to play a big role in Week 16.
During Sunday night’s game, Gurley was announced as questionable to return with a knee injury. He was able to continue playing and finished with a pair of touchdowns. The Rams play the Cardinals this week so the big question is does Gurley play in a game the Rams are likely to be heavy favorites. Owners definitely want to monitor him this week.
Rapoport said the knee was wrapped while on the sideline, perhaps a sign he was trying to loosen it up. Rapoport added it's a good sign Gurley returned to the game and the "feel" is this doesn't seem like a major injury. Kelly had just two carries while Davis had one. They would serve as backups if Gurley can't go. Malcolm Brown, of course, is out for at least the rest of the regular season.
