Cam Skattebo doubtful for Week 9; Malik Nabers cleared to play

Giants

yesterday · 7:19 PM EST

Cam Skattebo returned to limited participation Friday but is doubtful for Sunday’s game against Philadelphia with a hamstring injury. Malik Nabers practiced fully and carries no game designation after missing Thursday’s session with a knee injury.

Related Players: Devin Singletary, Greg Desrosiers, Isaiah Likely, Darnell Mooney, J.J. McCarthy

Fantasy Impact:

Managers should plan to replace Skattebo, although he has not officially been ruled out. Devin Singletary would become a volume-based RB2 if Skattebo sits, making him a priority waiver addition wherever available. Greg Desrosiers is a deeper reserve rather than an immediate starting option. Nabers can return to fantasy lineups as a WR1, with his clearance also helping J.J. McCarthy’s outlook in SuperFlex leagues.

Giants plan to start J.J. McCarthy against Houston

Jeremy Fowler

Oct 21 · 1:47 PM EDT

Source: The Giants plan to start J.J. McCarthy on Sunday vs. Houston.

Fantasy Impact:

McCarthy becomes a starting option for managers short on quarterbacks in superflex leagues, but the Houston matchup makes him difficult to trust in one-quarterback formats. Nabers remains a WR2 with upside, while Likely belongs in TE1 lineups.

Giants could make greater use of their tempo offense

Patricia Traina

Oct 14 · 12:07 PM EDT

John Harbaugh said the Giants’ tempo package helped open up the offense against Washington and should remain part of their approach going forward, Patricia Traina reports. Harbaugh acknowledged that game flow pushed New York toward that approach during Sunday’s comeback.

Fantasy Impact:

Winston remains a superflex option with passing-volume upside against New Orleans. Nabers has WR1 upside and Likely remains a strong TE1 choice. Mooney and Fields are deeper-league options whose appeal would improve if the faster pace produces more passing opportunities. Skattebo remains the preferred backfield start; managers should avoid counting on another 54-attempt game when setting expectations for the secondary receivers.
