The Texans lost their top two running backs in Dennis Johnson and Deji Karim.

Fantasy Impact: 

There is no word on the injuries, but if neither is able to play, the Texans have now gone through four RBs this season. Jonathan Grimes ran five times for 23 yards and could be very well be in position to get Week 17 playing time.

Fantasy Impact: 

Dennis Johnson (13) and Deji Karim (12) played a similar number of snaps last week, so it's not clear at this point who will be the lead back in Week 16. The Broncos are #11 in RB aFPA over the past 10 weeks, so it's not a great matchup either. This is probably a situation to avoid unless the Texans reveal their workload plans for the two backs. Carries could be at a premium if the Texans fall behind. Johnson figures to have the advantage in the passing game.

Texans RB Ben Tate had a cat scan on the four broken ribs he's played with. HC Wade Phillips said he got banged up at Indy.

Fantasy Impact: 

That puts his Week 16 status in doubt against the Broncos. Dennis Johnson would start in place of Tate. The Texans would probably have to keep this a competitive game in order for Johnson to be a safe play.

Texans RB Ben Tate (ribs, probable) took limited practice reps all week and is probable for Week 13. Tate should be fine for the Patriots, but just how entrenched he is as the team’s RB1 remains to be seen. Dennis Johnson out-touched him last week.
