Scouting report

SF QB Brock Purdy - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Jacksonville Jaguars

Brock Purdy cleared concussion protocol just in time to play against the Bengals before the bye last week. He had a rough game, throwing for 365 yards and a touchdown, but also a pair of interceptions. He also lost a fumble, and the 49ers dropped their third consecutive game. Purdy had zero interceptions in his first five games this season, and now has five over his last three. Hopefully, the bye was just what he needed to get back on track.

This week, he’ll face a Jacksonville defense that ranks 16th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Expect a better day from Purdy after a week off, and for the 49ers to come out swinging. We have Purdy ranked as a low-end QB1 option and he should be a quality starter in most leagues.

SF QB Brock Purdy - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Brock Purdy is coming off of two rough outings and the first two regular-season losses of his young career. He still has great weapons around him though and should rebound as the season progresses. There was always going to be some adversity at some point, now we get to find out how he handles it.

Purdy has a nice matchup against a Cincinnati defense that ranks 22nd in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. This could be a bit of a shoot-out, so keep Purdy active as a fringe-QB1 option in most leagues.

SF QB Brock Purdy - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Minnesota Vikings

Brock Purdy had his first really bad game of his young career last week, which culminated in his first loss in a game he started and finished. He threw for just 125 yards, a touchdown and a pick against the Browns, completing only 44.4% of his passes. In fairness to Purdy, the Browns look incredible on defense.

This week, Purdy faces a Minnesota defense that ranks 18th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. He should get back on track in a much better matchup and fantasy managers should expect a return to touchdown passes and efficiency from the second-year signal-caller. Start him this week in a nice matchup.

SF QB Brock Purdy - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Cleveland Browns

Brock Purdy had a dominating performance against the Cowboys last week, throwing four touchdown passes in a lopsided victory. Purdy is now the fantasy QB5 on the season, and he looks more poised and more confident in every outing. He boasts the best group of weapons in the NFL, giving him big-play upside every week.

Purdy has a tough matchup this week against a Browns defense that ranks 13th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks and features one of the most incredible pass-rushers in the league in Myles Garrett. Consider Purdy a risky starter in a game that could be about ball-control, but he’s still a relatively high-floor option if you need a safe play. He’s had over 20 fantasy points in three straight games, and has 11 touchdowns - including two rushing - with no interceptions.

SF QB Brock Purdy - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Dallas Cowboys

The 49ers are almost too good. Brock Purdy hasn’t had to put up big fantasy numbers for the team to win, as he’s averaging just 28 pass attempts per game on his way to a 4-0 record this year. Purdy has been efficient though. He completed all but one of his 21 pass attempts last week in a lopsided victory over the Cardinals, totaling 283 yards and a touchdown. He has seven touchdowns - five passing and two rushing - this year, with zero interceptions.

This week, Purdy has a tough matchup against the Cowboys, who rank fourth in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Expect a rock fight in this one, with fantasy points hard to come by for Purdy. His efficiency and the weapons around him make him worth considering every week in deeper leagues, but we have him ranked as a solid QB2 option this week, outside of starting territory in most formats.

SF QB Brock Purdy - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Brock Purdy had a nice game against the Giants last Thursday night, throwing for 310 yards and a pair of touchdowns with no interceptions. He has accounted for at least one touchdown every week so far this season and has two touchdown passes in two out of three games. The weapons around him help bolster his numbers.

This week, Purdy faces a Cardinals defense that ranks dead last in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. Purdy is a nice streaming option this week in a great matchup, and can be considered a fringe-QB1 in all formats.

SF QB Brock Purdy - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. New York Giants

Brock Purdy had another efficient day, leading the 49ers to a victory over the Rams and passing for 206 yards in the process. While he didn’t throw a touchdown, he did run for one and he didn’t throw an interception. Purdy’s weapons make him a high-floor fantasy option, even if he has limited overall-QB1 potential.

This week, we have Purdy ranked as a fringe-QB1 and a nice streaming option against the Giants. New York let Joshua Dobbs put up a QB4 outing last week so there’s some upside for Purdy. The 49ers may get up early and run the clock out, but Purdy should be good for a couple of touchdown passes in the process. Start him in 2QB and in deeper 1QB leagues.
