This year's Jaguars receiving corps is improved and receivers coach Todd Monken said it started with the addition of veteran Torry Holt along with "having guys that are wanting to learn and come in every day trying to be better, trying to improve."

"I believe things happen for a reason," he said. "Maybe that was something that happened for Nate to strengthen him, toughen him up and [give] the other guys [a chance] to play. Maybe that was just a sign to get Mike Sims-walker more [action]."

Holt, who has two years left on his contract, said he will decide at the end of the season whether he wants to return after he finds out if he's still in the Jaguars' plans.

"They may not want me back," he said. "Who knows? So I'll wait until the end of the year, evaluate it and see how I feel and then I'll go from there."
