IDP Waiver Wire Week 7: Top Pickups & Adds
We're on to Week 7, with four more bye-week teams (Bills, Jaguars, Chargers, and Commanders) to navigate. This is when your depth gets tested, and those stale cross-your-fingers-and-hope-they-figure-it-out assets need to be looked at through a different lens.
I always advise being aggressive on the waiver wire early in the year, and that gets tested more in the next few weeks. Anchoring to priors instead of seeing what actually happened is even more dangerous.

My intention here is to cater to a wide variety of leagues every week. IDP leagues are like snowflakes, so if you have specific questions, jump into our subscriber Discord, find the IDP channel, and tag me with any questions you have. Some of you play in leagues where all of these players are already owned, and some of you play in IDP leagues where only 3-4 players are rostered on each team, so the players listed below might not even be on your radar, so don't be afraid to reach out with specific questions. For now, expect at least one recommendation for shallow, medium, and deep leagues.

IDP Waiver Wire Week 7
Defensive Linemen
Elijah Ponder (DE) - New England Patriots
I mentioned Elijah Ponder a few weeks back as a deep league option, but we're now in a position where Ponder needs to be considered for even shallow leagues. Harold Landry is still out for New England, and Dre'Mont Jones is on a hamster wheel of in-game injury, questionable all weeks, plays, gets injured again. In short, Ponder's snap share feels safe right now, and his performance is certainly helping him earn those reps. Ponder has at least a half sack in every game this season, and he ranks 10th in PFF's pass rush grade through the first six weeks.
Jonathon Cooper (DE)- Denver Broncos
The league stated on Friday that its investigation remains ongoing, but Jonathon Cooper would be removed from the Commissioner's Exempt List, making Cooper eligible to return to the lineup in Week 7. Cooper has at least 8.5 sacks in the past three seasons in Denver, working opposite Nik Bonitto along the Broncos' defensive line. Cooper will likely be eased into action, but if you're in a deeper league, Cooper is worth a stash sooner rather than later.
