An MRI performed on Raiders Pro Bowl cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha's right ankle Monday revealed a sprain, coach Tom Cable said.

The Raiders won't know until Wednesday how severe the sprain is, Cable said. He added that there's a possibility Asomugha will play Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

"It just appears to be an ankle sprain," Cable said.

Asomugha suffered the injury early in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks when he stepped on the right foot of wide receiver Golden Tate as they battled for a deep pass.

Asomugha was helped from the field by two members of the Raiders medical staff and escorted into the locker room.

Earlier in the game, Asomugha suffered an injury to his left hand, which he had wrapped so that he could return to action.

Asomugha was unavailable for comment after the game and Monday.
