Tyrod Taylor ruled out, Jets go back to Justin Fields

The Jets ruled out QB Tyrod Taylor for Sunday’s game against the Bengals with a knee injury. Justin Fields will start.

Fantasy Impact:

Taylor was limited all week in practice and head coach Aaron Glenn was very hush on who would start at quarterback Sunday, never committing one way or the other, especially in the case of Taylor. Now the Jets go back to the quarterback they benched during last week’s loss to the Panthers. Fields has thrown for less than 100 total yards in the last two weeks and he’ll again be without Garrett Wilson. It could be another long day for the 0-7 Jets.

Falcons QB Kirk Cousins is “highly likely” to get the start Sunday against the Dolphins, in place of the injured Michael Penix Jr.

Fantasy Impact:

Cousins worked with the first team all week in practice as Penix was limited with a bone bruise in his knee. It would make Cousins’ first start since Week 15 of last season, before the Falcons made the switch to Penix in Week 16. Cousins draws a Miami defense that has ranks dead last in expected points added per play. It’s far from the worst streaming option this week with six teams on a bye.

The Texans ruled out WRs Nico Collins and Christian Kirk for Sunday vs. San Francisco.

Fantasy Impact:

It looks like Houston is going to have to feature their two rookie WRs, whether they like it or not. We don't have to like it in fantasy, though, and there are better WR rooms to attack in Week 8.

49ers QB Brock Purdy, WR Ricky Pearsall officially Out Week 8

Fantasy Impact:

The 49ers passing attack has been quite conservative with Jones on the field, so it would be a stretch to consider him a QB streamer against the Texans' defense. Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne are both in the WR3/4 fringe.
