Stanton upbeat despite Lions' crowded QB ranks

Drew Stanton knows the situation now that the Lions have drafted quarterback Matthew Stafford No. 1 overall. But he isn't going to give up or try to force his way out. "It's one of those things that's going to be an uphill battle," Stanton said today after practice. "I'm aware of that. But it's a challenge that I'm going to have to try to overcome." Asked if he would like an answer about his future - if the Lions would let him go as soon as possible if he's not going to be in Detroit - he said: "I think that will eventually be discussed." But in the meantime, he's not going to entertain questions about leaving.
