Just mere hours after signing Mecole Hardman, New York has moved on from speedster Elijah Moore, who they drafted in the second round of the 2021 draft. It clears the way for Hardman to be the Jets WR4 while Cleveland adds a much-needed offensive weapon at the cost of a pick-swap. It's an easy win for quarterback Deshaun Watson and the Browns offense.

Anthony Schwartz has had the opportunity to carve out a role in a thin Browns wide receiver room but finds himself on the outside looking in at 3-WR sets.

Rookie David Bell looks like the current third wide receiver option behind Peoples-Jones and Amari Cooper. Schwartz ran 42 routes over Cleveland's three preseason games, catching three of his twelve targets, dropping an incredible five of them, and averaging 0.67 yards per route run.

Anthony Schwartz suffered a knee injury Thursday morning that is going to require "further examination."

Schwartz was expected to be the no. 3 wide receiver with Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones, at least until rookie David Bell got up to speed. Bell is on the PUP list for the time being, but he "ended up doing at least some of the same things his fellow receivers did Thursday — just at a slower pace." If Schwartz's injury is serious, it will open the door for Bell, or possibly Javon Wims, who is currently on the NFI list.

In his NFL Scouting Combine article, ESPN's Matthew Berry asked Browns HC Kevin Stefanski to elaborate on his unprompted praise of WR Anthony Schwartz.

"He said what impressed them last year at the combine in his interview (and this past season) was his understanding of the game. They knew about his world-class speed, of course, but they loved the fact that he could line up at any position. He immediately grasped all the different concepts for every WR position. Stefanski noted that Schwartz got hurt in the middle of the season and then suffered a concussion after that, so his growth was stunted, but the Browns are definitely excited about him and expect a bigger role for him this season."

Schwartz could be locked in as a three-wide WR, especially if Jarvis Landry departs. Berry mentions Schwartz as a deep sleeper and dynasty buy, which is advice we agree with.

Browns WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) is questionable for Week 12 against the Baltimore Ravens. WR Anthony Schwartz (concussion) will miss his second straight game.

A healthy DPJ would go a long way with the Ravens being a pass funnel defense. If not, look for another heavy workload for the Browns tight end trio.

Browns WR Anthony Schwartz (concussion) will miss Week 11's game against the Detroit Lions. WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) is questionable.

Schwartz took on monster hit during a punt return last week that caused him to leave the game prematurely. DPJ's potential absence would be good news for Rashard Higgins.

With Landry out, Peoples-Jones, Schwartz and Higgins are next up on the depth chart and could be the team's top-three WRs. Landry suffered a knee injury on the second offensive play of the game in Week 2. This season, Landry has caught six passes for 80 yards and two rushes for 13 yards and a touchdown. Landry will have to miss at least three games.
